Drone Sky Shows: Electric Skies | Adelaide Fringe Festival

BRIEF
At DSS, we take pride in creating unforgettable cultural experiences that fuse technology, art and culture in an electrifying way. That’s why we were honoured to be commissioned by the Adelaide Fringe Festival for their 2023 edition to create a one-of-a-kind drone light show.

OUTCOME
Dubbed “Electric Skies,” the drone show was part of a multi-sensory experience combining technology, storytelling and music that would leave audiences spellbound. And that’s precisely what we achieved.

The show took place at Pakapakanthi/Victoria Park and featured a 500 fleet of drones that illuminated the night sky with a display of stunning colours and patterns.

What made the show unique was that it incorporated First Nations language and traditional songs, making it a truly immersive cultural event. The music for the show was specially composed by Electric Fields duo Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross, who incorporated First Nations musical elements into their compositions. Dreamtime creatures and designs inspired many of the drone animations, creating a harmonious interplay between art, music and technology.

The Electric Skies drone light show was a testament to DDS’ commitment to delivering innovative and inclusive cultural events that celebrate the diversity of human experience, and we’re proud to have been a part of it.

“5 Stars for an exhilarating sound and light show that the whole family will appreciate.” – Claire Davill.
