1. How long has Neil McIntyre worked with Drone Sky Shows
I have been a part of Drone Sky Shows, since February 2022.
2. What inspired you to join Drone Sky Shows, and what excites you most about your role in the drone light show industry?
Our amazing Jerry Supandiman invited me to participate. I love the teamwork aspect, and that our product is a performance – once delivered all of the stress and preparation just evaporates – leaving just the achievement
3. Can you share your professional background and experience in the drone, technology or entertainment industry?
My professional background is in IT (systems and network administration) and I’ve been flying drones and aeroplanes as a hobby for the last 4 years
4. What do you hope to learn, achieve or accomplish during your time with DSS?
I’ve been involved in some amazing shows in unbelievable places. I’ve learned that dynamic, synchronous teamwork requires a lot of preparation and practice!
5. Can you share a memorable experience you’ve had while working with DSS?
Delivering an amazing show in front of the Australia Day crowd at Langley Park 2024, it was such a buzz, and it seemed like the whole of Perth was there!
6. What attracted you to DSS as an employer, and what sets it apart from other companies in the industry?
I love how we give our people the freedom and support to excel. We provide the team with industry-leading training, helping to improve their skills. We allow our team to implement their ideas, and contribute to the growth and refinement of our amazing service.
7. The future of drone light shows from Neil McIntyre
Faster approvals, closer (but still safe) crowds. Better equipment that will reduce workload and improve reliability.
8. What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a career in drone light shows?
Teamwork makes the dream work! Seriously, it is the most important personal attribute that you are willing to mesh with all of the other parts of the operation
9. How does Neil McIntyre stay motivated and inspired in your role?
I love that everything we have done in the past can be considered an achievement! We should recognise and celebrate those. Looking forward, each new show is an opportunity to implement what you have learned and execute our plan even better than we have done in the past.
10. What do you enjoy doing in your free time when you’re not working on drone light shows?
HAHA, DSS takes up all my free time, but between shows, I like to eat out, travel, 3D Printing, fly hobby craft, SIM Racing, and walk my sausage dog, Luigi!
